Why choose me and my style of tutoring?

Above everything, for a child to achieve their potential academically they must feel confident and happy. This is the ethos with which I have always taught; this is what comes first above everything else. Can you work towards excelling in exams without losing the fun, enjoyment and personal growth focus for the individual? That is my goal for every child that I work with.

Due to my experience I am able to offer bespoke tutoring with the added benefit of a setting which gives the enjoyment children get from working with their peers within small groups. Whether your child needs support with their English or maths or they are planning to take the 11+ test, I will do all I can to prepare, resource and deliver sessions that benefit them.

KS2 Year Group Booster Sessions

The tutoring sessions that I am currently offering have been planned to run alongside the primary school curriculum. As I get to know each individual child I will then adapt the work carefully to suit all the members within the tutor group. Children and their parents will be provided with regular personalised feedback so you will easily be able to judge for yourself whether your child is making the progress they need to.

11+ Sessions for year 4 and 5 children

I grew up in Goudhurst, attending the local primary school, then a local comprehensive before successfully sitting my 13+ and attending Cranbrook Grammar School.

Straight from school, I followed my passion to work with children and went to university to train to be a teacher. Upon my graduation I moved back to the area and have since taught in a variety of year groups across three local schools. The majority of my teaching career has been spent focusing on the year 5 and 6 curriculum since finding a personal interest for working within this age range.

These experiences have provided years of awareness and understanding of the grammar school system in this area, including the expectations academically required of children attempting to work their way towards sitting the 11+.

My eldest son is currently in year 5 so I am also able to offer support and advice to parents from that personal angle as I guide him through my 11+ tutoring syllabus too.
