Clare Bannon
I am a primary teacher and former deputy head teacher, with experience of all primary ages including knowledge of special educational needs. I have been teaching in primary education for 26 years and have an up to date paediatric first aid qualification.
I decided to take a break from leadership and am now solely following my passion for teaching Key Stage 1 on a part time basis. This allows me the flexibility to teach a class and give bespoke learning through teaching groups and 1:1 tutoring. During my teaching time I have taught all primary aged children including extra hours outside of school for SATs preparation and support and have successfully tutored children in KS1 and KS2.
I can provide additional support for 5-7 years olds in phonics and I am proficient with Little Wandle, the early phonics programme. Additionally, I can offer maths support and writing booster sessions, with a large range of teaching resources to suit all children’s learning needs. This gives me the opportunity to raise attainment and take them to whatever step they are able to reach. My lessons are varied and enjoyable and I make them both fun and educational with the use of games and websites.
Please do get in touch if you feel this would meet your child’s needs and I would be happy to discuss further.

“Thank you for all the care, help and support you have given to Benjamin. He has grown in confidence so much from seeing you. The learning journey he is on is now a really positive one and that is down to you and your commitment and hard work.”

“My grandson started lessons with Clare in September of last year. He has autism and ADHD and is only in school half a day. Clare has been simply wonderful, I sit in her lounge, adjacent to the kitchen where they work together and it is a total joy to listen to what goes on. She is kind, endlessly patient and full of praise for any work that is achieved. My grandson really enjoys his time with her and although I am sure he is exhausting to teach, is progressing in his achievements with her. She is an inspiration to listen to and I can only say how very grateful I am that I was given her name during the summer holidays.”

“Clare has tutored Ella for over a year and I cannot recommend her highly enough. Each session is meticulously planned to incorporate Ella’s needs & interests and has enough flexibility to ensure she enjoys every minute whilst achieving her maximum potential. Clare also provides a detailed written report at the end of each term so you can see the progress your child has made.
Ella’s love for her extra tuition, plus the progress she has made is testament to the skills and dedication Clare brings to each session.”
